Modifications in production lines, influence failure behaviour and therefore the maintenance plan.

The only reason to maintain is to influence the effects of failure behaviour. We can sometimes prevent such behaviour and sometimes a change is needed in the process. An extra photocell, an alarm, a lamp, a procedure change. But every change will generate a reaction. The new photocell can also break down. A change in a procedure must be understood and applied. Modifications change the failure behaviour, on the basis of which maintenance plans have been drawn up.
